England vs West Indies Live score, 1st Test Day 5: Wood gets Hope; 27-3

  • July 12, 2020

England vs West Indies 1st Test live updates: England cricket team has added only 19 runs to its overnight lead of 170 runs as West Indian pacer Shannon Gabriel took five wickets for 79 runs on Day 5 at The Ageas Bowl, Southampton today. West Indies needs 200 runs to win the match and take 1-0 lead in the three-match Test series. England was bowled out for 313 runs with major contributions from Dom Sibley and Zak Crawley.

Earlier, England looked in command during a 98-run stand between captain Ben Stokes (46 off 79 balls) and youngster Zak Crwaley (76 off 127 balls) on Day 4. But a spirited performance by West Indies pace attack with the second new ball put visitors as favourites on the final day of the match. With no rain forecast today, the prospect of a draw is thrown out of the equation, unless overnight batsmen Jofra Archer (5 off 14 balls) and Mark Wood (1 off 1 ball) spring a surprise.
